Summer … doesn’t that word sound beautiful?! We wait for it all year and count down the days until we can enojoy the sun and relax! During holidays we still want to look great and use the time for some ‘me time’ don’t we?
Today I thought I’d put a little summer holidays must have, what you shouldn’t forget about when you’re going away tho summer season, so if you’re panicking on what to pack – sit down and let’s get into it …
1. Sun Cream – First, most important during the summer months when the skin catches the rays of sun! We should be using it all year round, but it’s mostly important in the summer – nobody wants to be sun burnt! It doesn’t look great nor is it good for our skin and health altogether! So if you’ve already decided on your beach bag, pop your sun cream in it now! My number one this summer is bioderma Hydrabio Perfecteur SPF 30.
2.Lip balm – lips are that part of the body we are often leaving out! You may say but I moisturise mine really well with a lip balm, gloss or, Vaseline or whatever you could think so but did you check whether they have the almighty SPF?! No I am not talking about anything that is under SPF 5, there are many brands who have specifically designed lip balms for those summer months – they know that it’s important to take care of your lips! They’re important so consider (based on your budget, from the most expensive to the most affordable): Shiseiso Sun Protection Lip Treatment with SPF 20, Aesop Protective Lip Balm with SPF 30. As well as SPF lip balm you should consider taking a lightly tinted lip balm such as YSL Volupte Sheer Candy to make your lips appear fuller and more tempting.
3.Waterproof mascara will be your best make up choice as we don’t want to look like panda and have mascara running down our faces,, do we?! Mascara transfers your make up immediately, makes your make up look like you’ve spent ages on doing it but in reality it was a quick 2-5 minutes make up right before you came out the door! Also coloured mascara snare so in as they make your eyes pop and add a bit of colour such as Benefit They’re Real or YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara.
4.Bronzer or SelfTanner will also be your best friend on your holiday because it will make you look more tanned as well as it will make your face glow, it will give it a ultimate healthy look to your face and in all honesty a bit of bronzer possibly mascara and a coloured lipbalm and highlighter will sort you out :) My favourite self tanner for face is golden glow booster from Clarins ! For makeup bronzer I would go for two in one – Shade and Illuminate from Tom Ford – Can’t live without !
5.Thermal water or spritzer/mist to cool you down, if you choose a rose water it is also inflammatory. It works well at all times, either under make up or over it as well as simply over bare face. If you keep your spritzer in the fridge it will give you an extra cooling down effect! Genious product is the water spray from Bioderma with protection SPF 30! I love it!
6.Coconut oil – keep a small jar in your beach bag in case you need extra moisture or when you’re in the hotel you can use it in many different ways – for your hair as a moisturising oil as your hair will get really dry in the sun, lip balm, foot cream, body lotion, on cuts, stretch marks or whatsoever. You can’t go wrong with a little pot of coconut oil!
7.Color Nailpolish – In Summer I love to wear coloured nails! I think we all do! The one I felt in love now is Tom Ford – Ginger Fire!
Remember of course to stay hydrated! Always keep a bottle of water next to you ! Invest in good Sunglasses with UV protection as the most important factor! It also helps if they’re a nice and fashionable style! If you want to be trendy opt for ever so popular Dior So Real, they’re fun and come in many different colours and compositions or if you’re feeling Classic a pair of Ray Ban Aviators will serve you well!
A good book or a magazine – something you wanted to read for a while but never got round to doing so just grab it and relax! Holiday is the only time when you can zone out and calm yourself down, ready for the work time ahead of you. Make sure your holiday is a good one, you’ll make beautiful memories.
And of course your Camera! :-)
When you’ve got all of these with you you are ready to take on the adventure, create memories and relax! Make the most out of it 😉
I’d love to hear your tips on what you take with you when you go away on a voyage?
