Summer … doesn’t that word sound beautiful?! We wait for it all year and count down the days until we can enojoy the sun and relax! During holidays we still want to look great and use the time for some ‘me time’ don’t we?
Today I thought I’d put a little summer holidays must have, what you shouldn’t forget about when you’re going away tho summer season, so if you’re panicking on what to pack – sit down and let’s get into it …
1. Sun Cream – First, most important during the summer months when the skin catches the rays of sun! We should be using it all year round, but it’s mostly important in the summer – nobody wants to be sun burnt! It doesn’t look great nor is it good for our skin and health altogether! So if you’ve already decided on your beach bag, pop your sun cream in it now! My number one this summer is bioderma Hydrabio Perfecteur SPF 30.
2.Lip balm – lips are that part of the body we are often leaving out! You may say but I moisturise mine really well with a lip balm, gloss or, Vaseline or whatever you could think so but did you check whether they have the almighty SPF?! No I am not talking about anything that is under SPF 5, there are many brands who have specifically designed lip balms for those summer months – they know that it’s important to take care of your lips! They’re important so consider (based on your budget, from the most expensive to the most affordable): Shiseiso Sun Protection Lip Treatment with SPF 20, Aesop Protective Lip Balm with SPF 30. As well as SPF lip balm you should consider taking a lightly tinted lip balm such as YSL Volupte Sheer Candy to make your lips appear fuller and more tempting. 3.Waterproof mascara will be your best make up choice as we don’t want to look like panda and have mascara running down our faces,, do we?! Mascara transfers your make up immediately, makes your make up look like you’ve spent ages on doing it but in reality it was a quick 2-5 minutes make up right before you came out the door! Also coloured mascara snare so in as they make your eyes pop and add a bit of colour such as Benefit They’re Real or YSL Vinyl Couture Mascara.
4.Bronzer or SelfTanner will also be your best friend on your holiday because it will make you look more tanned as well as it will make your face glow, it will give it a ultimate healthy look to your face and in all honesty a bit of bronzer possibly mascara and a coloured lipbalm and highlighter will sort you out :) My favourite self tanner for face is golden glow booster from Clarins ! For makeup bronzer I would go for two in one – Shade and Illuminate from Tom Ford – Can’t live without !
5.Thermal water or spritzer/mist to cool you down, if you choose a rose water it is also inflammatory. It works well at all times, either under make up or over it as well as simply over bare face. If you keep your spritzer in the fridge it will give you an extra cooling down effect! Genious product is the water spray from Bioderma with protection SPF 30! I love it!
6.Coconut oil – keep a small jar in your beach bag in case you need extra moisture or when you’re in the hotel you can use it in many different ways – for your hair as a moisturising oil as your hair will get really dry in the sun, lip balm, foot cream, body lotion, on cuts, stretch marks or whatsoever. You can’t go wrong with a little pot of coconut oil!
7.Color Nailpolish – In Summer I love to wear coloured nails! I think we all do! The one I felt in love now is Tom Ford – Ginger Fire!
Remember of course to stay hydrated! Always keep a bottle of water next to you ! Invest in good Sunglasses with UV protection as the most important factor! It also helps if they’re a nice and fashionable style! If you want to be trendy opt for ever so popular Dior So Real, they’re fun and come in many different colours and compositions or if you’re feeling Classic a pair of Ray Ban Aviators will serve you well!
A good book or a magazine – something you wanted to read for a while but never got round to doing so just grab it and relax! Holiday is the only time when you can zone out and calm yourself down, ready for the work time ahead of you. Make sure your holiday is a good one, you’ll make beautiful memories.
And of course your Camera! :-)
When you’ve got all of these with you you are ready to take on the adventure, create memories and relax! Make the most out of it 😉
I’d love to hear your tips on what you take with you when you go away on a voyage?
Hi, together with my boyfriend Mike, who is international hairstylist working in Paris, we created a playlist where we will share with you our videos. We will create makeup and hair tutorials, also many surprises :-) We want to keep it intresting also fun and joyful! Hope you will enjoy our new Youtube series!
Hands are one of the body parts that is used a lot, it’s what people look at when you meet them – one of the first impression when you greet them! So it’s important to make sure the first impression is a good one, this quick guide will help you with hand care: DIY hand masks, a guide to great hand creams and beautiful hands ritual!
2. Moistuze – When you are finished with the scrub, it is important to moisturise the hands well to ensure the oil or rich cream penetrates to the deeper parts of the skin. My favourite trick: Apply a generous layer of baby oil/olive oil/coconut oil to your hands and put on disposable gloves, keep them for at least 15 minutes in the meanwhile you can do ex. cleaning house, this way you are protected from chemical cleaning products and your hands are having a spa time!
Good body oils you could use are: BioOil, Hipp Babysanft baby oil with eco sweet almond oil, Vichy Nutriextra Huile Extraordinaire with 9 vegetable oils and of gorgeous orange blossom scent, Mustela Huile de Massage baby messaging oil which is 99% natural and smells of jasmine – so calming! To be honest any oil will do a good job! I love natural once like coconut oil or olive oil!
DIY hand masks
3. Potato mask
Boil 2 potatoes, crush them with a fork and mix it with egg yolk and 2/3 table spoons of warm milk into a thick paste. Apply it to your hands and cover with foil. After 15 minutes wash it off and put moisturising cream on your hands. The potatoes give protein, strach and ensymes which smooth and moisture the skin. It also has vitamin C which works to brighter the skin.
4. Paraffin compress
Melt down a piece of paraffin by putting the bowl with it over a pan with hot water. Put a generous layer of moisturising cream and put your hands in the paraffin for a moment. Take them out and wait until the paraffin dres and sets on your hands, then repeat the process to have a thicker layer of paraffin on your hands. Put disposable glow on and cover your hands in a towel. After 15 minutes crush the paraffin and wipe your hands with a paper towel, the cream penetrates the skin deeper under warm paraffin and the wax hydrates, smoothes, softens and keeps the moisture in the skin.
There are many great hand creams that you can use at all the times to ensure that your skin keeps the moisture and ensure your hands stay soft and hydrated.
The price ranges vary according to the budget but you can get a great hand cream in every price range, such as Vichy Nutriextra which is more on the affordable side but moisturising because of the shea butter it contains. Also L’Occitane shea butter hand creams are fabulous, they come in a range of different scents and everyone will be able to find something they like – they moisturise deeply because of high shea butter content, honey, sweet almond extract and vitamin E. One of the great ones I found is also Diptyque Luxurious Hand Balm with a blend of apricot kernel oil, shea butter and argan oil to comfort and protect the hands as well as nourishing. One which is all the time in bag now is Aesop Resurrection Aromatique Hand Balm
I hope that now you have those tips your hands will be well nourished and smooth like they never have been before!
A guide to fast and easy self tan …
If you have as sensitive skin as I do, and full of beauty marks, Sun Rays are not our friends… Also have no time to lay down for hours to get beautiful suntan! I would feel I loose my time :-) These days there is so many formulas and possibilities, that in one day we can get beautiful sun kissed, naturally looking skin. Fake tanning products are completely IN, and I’m still surprised it’s such a TABU topic. Now they mostly don’t contain caroten which gave before this orange finish. As during summer I love wearing light colours, white, beige, my natural skin tone is very light, that’s why I feel great having slightly bronzed skin!
Let me round up for you a fake tan guide including what’s new and what formulas are available in the market! I try a lot of them and I will tell which are mine favourite!
First of all, before you attempt to put any fake tan on remember to exfoliate your skin so your tan will last longer, and the rough and dry skin doesn’t make your tan appear patchy.
There are many different formulas, depending on the type of tan you want to achieve – from really light sun kissed and healthy looking skin to a really dark tan, the products allow you to build it up and work around your needs and the amount of time you have spare on your hands to give your skin the colour it wants ☺
If you are just looking to make your face more bronzed and healthy then there is many options for you such as:
Hope this helps you choose how you want your skin to achieve the sun kissed bronzed Goddess look, whether you want it a really natural shade or feeling a little bit more adventurous, there is something in the market for all of us! You can feel summer on your skin all year long ☺

I’m a tea lover! I cannot imagine a day without having one :-) I love to try new once every time, green, herbal, fruity flavours, rooibos, white… All kinds! Sometimes with honey, lemon, ginger, cloves… Love to experiment! I have a quite a big collection of my favourite teas and as I know there is many tea lovers like me out there, so I think you will enjoy this post! ;-)
What is very interesting that all true tea comes from the same plant, called the Camellia sinensis. Whether the tea becomes white, green, oolong or black, depends on how the leaves are processed and oxidized.
Any leaf, root, fruit or flower that comes from a different plant is considered an herbal tea.
Herbal teas, for example: Peppermint ten, Ginger tea, Chamomile tea, Rooibos tea, Lemon balm tea (Malissa), Rosehip tea, Lavender Tea, Hibiscus flower tea and many more.
If you are looking for a tea best for your health, there is few indication which one to choose:
FOR ENERGY- Rooibos – Red tea
FOR BETTER SKIN- White Tea
FOR TEETH- Oolong
FOR HIGH BLOOD SUGAR- Chamomile
FOR GENERAL HEALTH- Black
FOR WEIGHT CONTROL- Green
There is many more things I could go through, the tea subject is so interesting! To keep this post shorter I will finish here. Now is time to share few of my favourite brands!
Tea I drink the most often is Kusmi Tea, I just love their variety, the smell, for every moment I can find the perfect one from their selection. I got from Mike the entire box with their tea collection, It was the best present ever! :-)
My second favourite is Lov Organic, which is another brand by Kusmi tea. Delicious and innovative organic tea and wellness blends. What I also love about it is this lovely eco-friendly packaging!
Whittard – British finest tea, this is my choice for the perfect black tea, amazing scent and flavour. Brand was founded in 1886.
Very chic tea bag and easy to use, brand Tea Forte is one of the Tea I like to serve when I have guest coming over, very good quality, amazing scent. The one I have now is Organic Green Mango Peach, I just love it!
My tea collection from travels – every time I travel, especially to Asia, South America or Africa, I love to bring a good tea as a souvenir. I have a big collection, my fouvorite is green tea from Japan, which we received from a friend, whose family made especially for us! So adorable :-) and incredibly delicious…
Hello from Mallorca, I came here for 2 shootings, 11 days! I thought yesterday that it would be nice to share with you my top skin care I take for travel. I received also amazing new products from Kiehls, I used them during my last days, and I really love them! Especially the ultra facial cleanser! and my favourite eye cream Creamy eye treatment with avocado.
I used the skincare from stockholm VERSO, I love they day and night cream with retinol (witamin A). For demakeup I use La Roche Posay Micellar Water, for travel I take with me the miniature size. I always have with me a pure coconut oil. I love to use it to hydrate the skin, to remove makeup or to make oil pulling! For deodorant I like to use recently Dove. Then when I feel my skin gets sensitive I go for REN Global Protection day cream. Many of you asked me about the face mask I used when snapchating ;-) It’s one of my japanese goodies ;-) I just love to use them! It works wonders for the skin and it’s so easy and fun to apply! The brand I used with fun Panda face is from SNP. You can buy them online http://en.koreadepart.com.
After 10 days of using the new Brightening Enzyme Water Cream from Sunday Riley, I can tell you my thoughts!
First little introduction…
An advanced brightening, refining treatment infused into a next-generation water cream formula.
Tidal Brightening Enzyme Water Cream delivers an intense water drench with two forms of hyaluronic acid and tamarind extract, for hydrated and visibly plumped skin. Papaya enzymes smooth and exfoliate, while alpha-arbutin and giant white bird of paradise extract brighten hyperpigmentation spots and illuminate the complexion.
I used it as a night cream for 10 last days, and after each application I felt that my skin get very well hydrated (As I mentioned on snapchat before: ‘I feel like I just had 10 glasses of water’). It’s an amazing solution for dehydrated skin! 5 days ago I came from Paris to Mallorca, and always after the flight my skin gets very dry, just after massaging a layer of the Sunday Riley cream onto my skin, it was such a relief.. After 10 days I really see the difference! My skin its in much better condition in general. I highly recommend especially for problems with dry skin! #DariiaLoves
Officially Spring has sprung, the flowers are blossoming and everything is starting to wake up for the warm season – you need to do so and I’ll help you to get yourself feeling ready for spring and your hair, hence it’s one of the attributes you really want to shine!
With these 3 my favourite simple and quick DIY hair masks your hair will be fixed and ready to take in the sun rays – most of the ingredients you probably already have in your kitchen cupboards, just raid through them and LET’S GET STARTED!
Keep the ready mask on your hair for 20 minutes and then rinse throughly!
1 spoon of avocado purée
2 spoons of coconut oil
1 teaspoon of honey
Mix all the ingredients thoroughly and put on your hair, keep for 20 minutes and rinse well so there is no avocado left in your hair. It is a bit of runny hair mask and it can start dripping down so make sure you have a towel on your shoulders. Ideal for people with dry hair and hair that needs a bit of shine, isn’t happy!
2. For healthy, hydrated and shiny hair
Keep the mask on your hair for 60 minutes and then wash off!
1 mashed up banana
1/4 cup of honey
1/2 cup of yoghurt
Mix all the ingredients together into a paste, put on your hair and keep for 60 minutes and rinse off, ensure you comb your hair through because the banana can be a bit problematic to rinse off – but trust me it’s worth it! Your hair will look like there was no winter to dry it out and like it was never hid under a hat! 😊
This mask tends to go a bit runny so ensure you have the towel close by just like when trying the mask above!
3. To improve the overall condition of the hair and make the hair stronger
Keep the mask on damp hair for 15 minutes and then rinse!
1 cup of mixed pumpkin
1 teaspoon of honey
1 teaspoon of natural yoghurt
1 teaspoon of coconut oil
Warm up the coconut oil and mix all the ingredients together, put the mask on your hair and keep on damp hair for 15 minutes and then rinse off!
Due to high level of potassium and vitamin A this mask is ideal for all hair types and does wonders. Trust me!
Now your hair is ready for spring, let me know what other DIY masks are your favourite and why!
